The Doctor's Daughter
Ok...is it just me or is EVERYONE (who watches Doctor Who) getting really ticked off at the show's script writers?!
WHY do the keep getting rid of the good character?
First Sally Sparrow...now this!!
I realize Jenny that did regenerate at the end but there's no guarantee that she'll be back and quite frankly, she was AWESOME in this episode.
Who else saw it? Opinions?

I saw that aswell, I was well gutted when she died but relieved when she regenerated. It is unlikely that we'll see her again but you never know!

Hmm, I think her regenerating just screams spin-off.
I thought her dying in the first place was a bit cheesy, then her regenerating was just over kill.
I liked the idea of the episode, but I think they made some poor decisions.
I dont think Martha was at all necesary in the episode, I love Martha, but I dont get why they had her in it if they were just going to treat her as if her presence was causing the script writers a issue.
And that fish-man dying, I think he was called Pec ? Why the hell !? Gosh, it was like the horse in the Never Ending Story all over again.

i thought that it was awesome. According to my friend that uses the Doctor Who Official Forum, Jenny may be in another episode. I hope she is.

Was my exact thoughts
Jenny Who, anyone?
And the Sally Sparrow thing.. i know loads of people want her back, but she didnt make Blink. That was down to a superbly written episode, not Sally Sparrow herself, if that makes sense.

Sally Sparrow was an awesome one-episode character, but would be AWFUL full time. So stop going on about her. And Jenny will be back, I believe. And did you really expect her to be in the next episode?

I really didn't like last night's ep.
I have no problems with Jenny herself, actually liked her a lot more that I thought I would, but it just annoyed the hell out of me.
Unneccessary death of cute fish people aside, I'm not usually one to pick holes in scripts, but there were far too many in that one.
But (puts on cynic hat) they have to try and introduce some awesome new characters so that people might actually still want to watch it when David Tennant leaves.

He’s going to be doing feature length episodes next year, so he’s not leaving yet.

From what I understand, he is doing three feature length eps next year (or it might be four) 'coz he is doing Hamlet in the theatre, and so rather than leave altogether, they worked a compromise, and he is apparently then leaving.
But this is all subject to change probably, I think they are going to have one hell of time trying to replace David Tennant.

He's signed up to do a season to be aired in 2010, or so I heard.
So he'll be around for a bit longer at least.
But naturally he will have to leave some time, he cant be dr. who forever.

That's true, but i can't think of anyone they could get to replace him at the moment.

People seem to forget that there was an incredibly successful first series before Tennant (which was far better than the second, I might add).

Putting aside the fact that I've loved David Tennant since almost before there was electricity, he has more charisma in his eyelashes than Christopher Ecclescake managed thruout the entire series.
Mr E left Doctor Who 'coz he said he didn't want to be type cast as the Doctor, which is frankly just 'coz he's not a good enough actor to pull it off.
If you're a good actor, you're believable in any role you play, whether you're hugely famous for playing one particular role or not.

I'm sorry, did you just say Eccleston was unbelievable? He was an amazing Doctor!
